Historic Banning Mills is best known as the oldest, longest and fastest zip line in Georgia, but they offer lots of other adventure activities too. On our recent visit to experience the Banning Mills zip line, we got a glimpse of a few other adventures that will get your heart pumping in a beautiful woodlands setting. These experiences can be added on to a zip line adventure or experienced on their own.

Banning Mills: Thrilling Zip Line in Georgia

Historic Banning Mills

At Historic Banning Mills zip lines lead you to sky bridges like this one 600 ft. long and 190 ft. high over a beautiful gorge. Next, the Predator – a step off a 200 ft. platform to zip down 900 ft.

About and hour outside of Atlanta, past the world’s largest mailbox on Ga. 5, is Historic Banning Mills zip lines. This eco-canopy adventure has course names and thrills that make the rollercoasters at the Six Flags theme park you pass on I-20 look like kiddie rides. So let the adventure begin.

TreeTop Quest is an adventure course for ages 4 and up. The more advanced courses at TreeTop Quest have swinging bridges, high heights and challenging elements that are lots of fun!

When: Daily June & July 10 am – 7 pm, Other months weekends and holidays. Closed December – February. Last ticket sold 2 hours before closing

4 – 6 (Chick’ Pea) $19 for one hour course and $25 for 2.5 hour course

Ages 12 – 17 and students $39,

TreeTop Quest is a self-guided, family friendly canopy adventure course, located on the grounds of the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center. It’s the first canopy adventure course I’ve seen that offers something for kids from preschool (age 4 and up) through high school, which is great for those of us with multiple children across various ages.  There are six courses and each takes about 30 minutes to complete. We’ve profiled them by age group below. Not all children can do all six courses, so check your child’s height and the TreeTop Quest course requirements before you go.

The TreeTop Adventure at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. is a combination of a challenging ropes course and moderate zip lines.  The combination is a whole lot of fun, especially for tweens and teens.
