I CANNOT WAIT to see this show! This has been a favorite story for all my boys. In fact, I once had a Disney World schedule derailed by Peter himself. I don’t do Disney without a strict plan. There is no room for error or dilly dallying in my Disney plan. For a relaxing family vacation, go to the beach, Disney is all about timing, there is no relaxing:) So when I casually mentioned, “oh look, there’s Peter Pan,” I had no idea it would take us off on an un-planned, un-scheduled chase to find him (FYI – He’s generally near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride)

Peter Pan The Show, is NOT a Disney remake, it’s the JM Barrie stage production, perfect for my guys who are a little bit past the animated version. In addition to being an urber cool venue – the show will be in a 360-degree CGI theater, erected in Pemberton Place between The World of Coca-Cola and The Georgia Aquarium, the performance is in-the-round and includes music, puppets, and of course flying.

The popular Nick Jr. show, Yo Gabba Gabbba  is coming to Atlanta as a live performance Oct. 23 and 24. On Oct. 24, Grammy Winner Zac Brown will join DJ Lance Rock and the rest of the Gabba Gang. Other special guests include a surprise Dancey Dance guest, and Hip-Hop legend Biz Markie who shows kids how to beat box with “Biz’s Beat of the Day.”

I have to admit, I haven’t seen this show and I have absolutely no idea what beat boxing is, so if you know, please tell me. Nothing like a show aimed at preschoolers to make you feel old and out-of-touch.

Although I may be stuck in the stone age, I know there are lots of Field Trips with Sue readers who would LOVE to see Yo Gabba Gabba! A friend once told me she was surprised I could keep this blog going for over a year. “I would have thought you’d run out of things to write about,” she said. What: Atlanta Opera’s Family Day
Where: The Atlanta Opera Center, 1575 Northside Dr. NW, Bldg. 300, Suite 350, Atlanta, GA 30318
When: Saturday, March 27 from 10 am – 2 pm (performances at 11 am and 1 pm)
Cost: $5 (children under 3 admitted free), free parking is available on-site

The Atlanta Opera is hosting their popular Opera Family Day on Saturday, March 27 from 10 am – 2 pm. The day is designed for children in preschool and early elementary school. Activities include make-your-own instruments and other craft activities, an interactive costume shop, stage combat demonstrations (this might not be good for my children, give them ideas) and an instrument petting zoo. For those who don’t know, an instrument petting zoo is an opportunity for children to hold and play various instruments. It’s a lot of fun and the kids love it. Of course there is also an opera performance. This year will be The Ugly Duckling.

Admission is $5 for anyone 3 and up and there is free parking on-site.

I know I said we’d announce the winner of the Spring Awakening tickets last Friday, but I was out of town and had some technology issues, so we’re announcing it today! Del Kittendorf, you are the winner of the Spring Awakening Tickets for Tuesday, March 9th at 8 pm at the Fox Theatre. Your tickets will be waiting at the media will call. This is not the regular will call, it’s just outside the theatre doors. Have fun and let us know what you thought.
