Yesterday on CBS Better Mornings Atlanta I met Harriet Tubman and Fredrick Douglas. They did a performance last night, but I asked them to send me info on where they’ll be in the future so I can let all of you know. Entertaining children ages 2 – 14 this weekend? I have two words for you “American Adventures”.

This Friday, Nov. 27, American Adventures is hosting a Black Friday Special on wristbands for unlimited play. A three hour wristband gives you unlimited mini-golf, go-karts, foam factory and the Fun Forest rides. There are rides appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers to teenagers, however there are height restrictions, so if you’ve got a little one, make sure they can ride before you promise. Of course, the mini-golf is fun for everyone and the foam factory will get your heart pumping.

The go-karts are a huge hit with my older boys. You must be 56″ or taller to drive the go-karts and 44-55″ to be a passenger. To carry a passenger, you must be 18 and have a valid driver’s license.

So bring the whole gang. There’s something for everyone.

What: Glow in the Dark Monster Golf
Where: Marietta, GA
When: Tuesday – Sunday
Cost: $5.50 – $7.50

My husband sent me a link to this interesting mini-golf with the Halloween flair. Not sure if it’s the monsters or the glow-in-the-dark that is most interesting. Now through Oct. 29th golf in costume and win a key that could unlock cash and prizes. You’ll have to come back on Oct. 29th to try the key in one of three coffin locks.

On Oct. 27, you can golf all day for $5.50 as part of their 2nd Anniversary Special. There are additional specials featured on the website.

Since it’s supposed to rain this weekend, I thought you might like some ideas on indoor activities to get some energy out. My youngest had a birthday party recently at Zamba Fun Land in Dunwoody. Zamba is a cross between the jumpy places (there are several inflatables) and Chuck E. Cheese (there are lots of arcade games and tokens) with an indoor putt-putt course thrown in for good measure. There are two to three areas for real little ones to crawl around and play and a parents corner for adults to watch the big game while the kids run around.

Zamba is set up for birthday parties, (the birthday cake served was voted “better than Publix” by my children. A definite compliment.) but they also welcome individuals. Weekdays are a deal, especially with the online coupon. Weekends are a bit pricier, but if we have another few weeks of rain like the last few, most parents would pay any price to have a place to let their little angels get out some energy.

The staff at Zamba were very friendly and helpful and try hard to think about what parents might want in a play space. They even have a low arm chair in the women’s bathroom for nursing mothers.
