Selected composers, lyricists, stage directors and opera singers — randomly put into teams – have 24 hours to compose, stage and rehearse a 10-minute opera. Performances will be judged by a panel of judges and by the audience. If you can’t make it live, you can still tune in via live webcast atlantaopera.org or Livestream.com and vote for audience favorite.

The Atlanta Opera Community Performances
What a great way to experience the creative process and introduce kids to opera. Another great way to get kids interested in opera is through The Atlanta Opera’s Community Performances. On Feb. 16 and Feb. 24, the Atlanta Opera will present Stone Soup, one of my mom’s favorite stories. Based on the classic children’s fable about a community that comes together to feed a lost and lonely soldier, Stone Soup: An Operatic Fable in One Delicious Act is a magical story that teaches us all how to be better friends and neighbors. Developed for grades K – 5. Community performances are in Decatur. There is a cost for Community Performances.
