I’m a history buff and I love visiting the Atlanta History Center, especially when they have special events and costumed interpreters. Lucky for you, one of those days is coming up and best of all, it’s FREE!
In celebration of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau 100 Years of Hospitality, residents and visitors alike are invited to tour the Atlanta History Center After Hours. See history come to life as you meet characters from Atlanta’s past who share stories about what life was like during some of Atlanta’s most pivotal moments. Enjoy an evening of culture and fun with friends and family. Admission is free, and includes access to the Atlanta History Museum.

Love the Atlanta History Center! I just don’t know what I love best about it…the Swan House, the Centennial Olympics Museum, the Tullie Smith Farm House, the gardens, the Bobby Jones Museum, the folk art, the other historic museums, the special exhibits, or all the wonderful staff who work there! Thanks for sharing, Sue!
Travis, Just came from the new exhibit on Monticello slaves. Interesting. Jefferson abhorred slavery (or so he says) yet he kept slaves and even after he died did not free them. In fact, they were sold at auction and many families split.
