Sagebrush Ranch is an educational indoor playground at the Booth Western Museum
Play. It’s how kids learn. But is all play equal? When the weather outside gets frightful, where can you take your little ones to work off some energy in some educational play. Here is a list of five wonderful Indoor Playgrounds in Atlanta that offer not only a place for physical exertion, but a mental workout as well. Many also have guides for parents to understand just what their kids are learning as they play. All of these places target kids from toddlers to elementary age. Please note, although I am describing them as ‘playgrounds’ all of these locations require that a parent engage with their children while they play. However, the good news is there is only one way in or out, so if you are chasing multiple kids and one gets away, you’ve only got one exit to cover.

If you are a fan of Field Trips w/Sue on Facebook, you’ve seen a few backstage photos of the circus lately (and if you aren’t, go now and “like” the page – add us to your favorites as well so you see our updates).
The reason I follow the circus so closely is that my real job isn’t Field Trips w/Sue, but public relations. One of my favorite clients is Feld Entertainment, creators of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. I love meeting the performers and getting a behind the scenes look at The Greatest Show on Earth. I thought you might too, so here are some photos from our morning media. I’ll post additional photos from events throughout the week via Field Trips w/Sue on Facebook – so again, like us, then comment and favorite Field Trips w/Sue so you’ll see our updates.

If you or your children have ever dreamed of visiting the Cannes or Sundance Film Festivals, here’s an opportunity to participate in a world class film festival right here in Atlanta. The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is the 2nd largest of it’s kind in the world and will be screening 70 films from 17 different countries. It’s a wonderful opportunity to introduce teens to a variety of narrative, documentary and short films not normally available and you don’t have to be Jewish to participate. Many of the films (at least the ones I noted) have historical significance and are a great way to followup on school studies or just learn more about history in general. Some films have English subtitles, great for a student learning another language.
