The American Girl experience is a rite of passage for little girls today. I knew moms that planned their American Girl trip to New York or Chicago for years, of course that was before we had a store at North Point Mall. Last year, I visited the Atlanta store with my niece Kate. Here is the post I did on the American Girl Store at North Point Mall.
Just because you aren’t traveling to NYC or Chicago, doesn’t mean you can’t make your American Girl trip into a true vacation. Why not escape the ordinary and make your trip a weekend getaway with your daughter, granddaughter or special little girl. The Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta has a fantastic American Girl Package that doesn’t break the bank.
American Girl Check In
The experience starts as soon as you walk in the door. There is a special, very pink check in for your little girl and her doll. The staff does it up right too. Rhonda made us do our best diva walk down the pink plush carpet before presenting our welcome letter and explaining our stay. The credit card is good for one free dessert in the restaurant or a candy bar or chips in the gift shop. Would we like milk and pink star cookies delivered to our room for us and our doll? Then we choose a star lollipop and headed the the elevators.
We were on the deluxe package, so once we entered the room, we were greeted by an explosion of pink. Bath towels, duvet, clock, pencil and pad, even a pink bean bag chair. In the closet, two bathrobes to use during your stay, one for your special little girl and one for her doll.
A travel sized American Girl Doll bed is waiting in your room and yours to take home.
Whether you’re on the deluxe or regular package, each room contains an American Girl doll-sized travel bed (again you can keep this upon check out). Breakfast in Vidalia’s restaurant is also included.
The Marriott itself is kid friendly. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool with an inviting deck. A perfect place to relax after a hard day of shopping.
