Halloween Fun: Haunted Houses Near Atlanta

October is the time of year when even sane people want to be scared out of their mind. If this is you, then check out these haunted houses in the Atlanta area. Know of other good one? Let us know. We’re also looking for not-so-scary alternatives for chickens like me that can’t do real haunted houses.

What: Netherworld Haunted House
Where: Norcross, Ga
When: Sept. 24 – Nov. 6, 2010 7 pm – 11 and midnight on weekends
Cost: $22 for the main haunt Gargoyle and $27 for Gargoyle and Dead Salvage
This is the mack daddy of haunted houses. It’s been rated the number one haunted house in the US. I met The Collector (pictured here) under bright lights and he was creepy, I can’t imaging meeting him in a dark room.

What: 13 Stories Haunted House
Where: Kennesaw, GA
When: Oct. 1 – Oct. 31, 2010 Dark until 10 pm, Weekends dark until midnight
Cost: $22 for two haunted attractions (coupons available)

What: Terror in the Square
Where: 134 South Clayton St., Lawrenceville
When: Oct. 15 – Nov 6, 2010 Thur. 7:30pm – 11 pm, Fri. and Sat. 7:30 pm – midnight and Sun. 7:30 pm – 10 pm
Cost: $22.50 per person
In addition to the haunted house, the Royal Flush Dance Crew will perform Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance as zombies, as well as their own dance moves.

Where: Six Flags Over Georgia, Austell
When: Oct. 2 – Oct. 31, 2010 Weekends and Fri., Oct. 22 and 29
