Rumpelstiltskin at Center for Puppetry Arts: Ticket Giveaway

What: Rumpelstiltskin
Where: Center for Puppetry Arts
When: Aug. 6 – Sept. 12, 2010
Cost: Members $9, Non-members $16 (See below on how to Win Tickets to the Aug. 21, 1 pm show)

I remember my mother reading me Rumpelstiltskin as a child. It’s a strange, weird little story, but I always liked it. A father brags his daughter can turn straw into gold and then must make good on his boast. A mysterious little man appears and offers his services to make it happen, but for a price.

In the book from my childhood, the man dances around a fire  singing “tonight my cake I bake, tonight my beer I make, tomorrow and tommorrow and tommorrow, the Queen’s little baby I take.” Could such an awful thing happen? Would he REALLY take the Queens baby? And what about the girl? And her father? Ok, enough of the cheesy TV cliffhanger lingo.

The Center for Puppetry Arts is performing their own version of this classic fairy tale and has offered Field Trips with Sue readers the opportunity to win a four pack of tickets to the 1 pm show on Sat. Aug. 21. Simply leave a comment below with your full name. For extra chances to win:
“Like” Field Trips with Sue on Facebook and leave a comment there and/or
Follow @suerodman on Twitter and Tweet: See Rumplestiltskin at the @CtrPuppetryArts. Win tickets from @suerodman on www.fieldtripswithsue.com

When you see the show, don’t forget that your show ticket also entitles you to a FREE Make a Puppet Workshop where you can make your own Rumpelstiltskin rod and string puppet.
