Looking for an indoor activity to get out of the heat or rain that will engage your little ones? Try Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp. We went last week to check it out and it’s even more fun than I thought.
Activities include shooting gallery, crafts, and workshops. Each workshop ends in a scavenger hunt and kids collect pins when they complete the hunt. There are 9 pins in all and you earn a different pin each day, so if you want something specific, check the calendar. Learn to cast on the casting pond from 4-5 pm, then play at the shooting range from 5 -6 pm. I thought the shooting range meant the arcade, it doesn’t (although the arcade is free during the camp). Kids go outside to shoot BB guns and real bows (12 and up). Younger campers shoot nerf bows. No summer camp would be complete without s’mores and Bass is giving those away FREE too. Thanks to Tommy Wilkenson for showing us around. Heres an interview with Tommy who gives you some tips and tricks for the best time to come.
The closest Bass Pro Shop to us is at Discover Mills Mall. Discover Mills also has a Sling Shot Speedway that is a lot of fun. If you venture there on the first Tuesday of the month, check out the free LEGO mini-build.
