If you’ve never been to the Center for Puppetry Arts, you should make a point to go this summer. As an added bonus, the Center is offering a “Passport to Summer” program. See three or more shows and win prizes including finger puppets, museum gift shop gift certificates, free guided museum tours and free show tickets. See all six summer shows and get all the prizes plus a photo with a real puppeteer!
This Sat., June 5, the Center is kicking off the program with Rita’s Italian Ice. From 12 – 2 pm guests can enjoy free samples of Rita’s Italian Ice, pick up their passport and see the puppet show Stellaluna. All puppet shows include free admission to the museum exhibits and a Create-A-Puppet-Workshop where kids can make a puppet of their own to take home. If you can’t stay for the workshop, ask for a Create-A-Puppet To-Go kit.
Showtimes on June 5 for Stellaluna are 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. The show runs through June 6. Other shows this summer include:
June 8 – 20 – The Lion, the Mouse & other Aesop’s Fables
June 22 – July 3 – Hansel & Gretel
July 6 – 18 – Billy Goat’s Gruff & other Stuff
July 20 – Aug. 1 – Everybody Loves Pirates
Aug. 6 – Sept. 12 – Rumpelstiltskin

We have no plans for this summer. I’m a FCBOE school bus driver whose been home from work 8 months, 4 with no income, due to pneumonia-induced vertigo, I can’t afford to do anything with my 3 children this summer. I would LOVE to win those tickets so my kids would have something to look forward to. I’ve heard your productions are awesome.

We plan to take full advantage of our passes to Fernbank and the aquarium. We caught the last puppet show tall tales before it finished last month and my daughter has been asking to go back already.
I would love to experience the Center for Puppetry Arts for the first time with my son. This will be a wonderful experience for us.

Sue, we’ve got a fun summer planned with lots of time at the lake, enjoying the great outdoors. Our favorite place is Tallulah Gorge, and the Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center. Our boys love seeing the native animals and studying all the cool rocks that can be found all over N. GA. We would love the puppetry arts tickets – it’s a great place for some indoor entertainment too!
We went to the Center for Puppety Arts for the first time last month – our 3 year old daughter was mesmerized! It is something we plan to do all summer long and we would LOVE to win the tickets!

The plan we are most excited about this Summer is the weekend we are planning on my Mom’s farm in North Carolina. My 3 and 4 yr old boys have 11 cousins their age so my sisters and I are making a weekend Summer Camp for all of them – hayrides, activities, hiking, fishing, etc.:) I would Love to win this! This will most likely be our last Summer here, as we are a military family and having to move on to the next big adventure. I have two boys ages 6 & 3. This summer will be filled with weekly Kumon sessions, Fernbank visits (thanks to the great deal I purchased on groupon), and attending free or discounted kid friendly events. I hope the Center for Puppetry Arts will be added to our list of summer events (eye wink), but good luck to everyone entering in the contest and have a fantastic summer.
