Must Follow Blogs for Travels with Kids in Atlanta and Georgia

There are tons of great travel blogs focused on traveling with kids and things to do in various cities. I know your favorite for things to do in Atlanta is Field Trips with Sue, but here are five other blogs that have great information on things to do around Georgia. It’s by no means a complete list, so tell me what I’ve left out.

  1. Atlanta on the Cheap – If you don’t know about this website, run, don’t walk to register. Author and mom Jenn Macejewski , scours both online and offline to give readers deals on tickets, dining and just about everything.
  2. Atlanta with Kid – For those in the Atlanta area, Atlanta with Kid is a great resource for family adventure. Author Amy Querido lives north of town, so she generally has a good scoop on things OTP North (outside the perimeter) as well as in town.
  3. Jekyll Island Blog – This is the blog of the Jekyll Island Authority, but it’s not just a sales pitch. There is great information on seasonal festivals, as well as attractions, and also has photos and videos. This blog should be a first stop in planning your trip to Jekyll Island.
  4. Southern Mamas – Southern Mamas is sort of a Field Trips with Sue for Savannah and the Low Country. Author Anne Hart, the mom of two boys offers great inexpensive outings for the local and the tourist.
  5. Explore Georgia – This is Georgia’s official tourism website, and it’s a good one. I see the feeds on Facebook and am often thinking, “we should go there.”
  6. Bonus: Brown’s Guide to Georgia – Again, I get this update via Facebook and just like Explore Georgia, I’m often thinking, “we should go there.” Today’s post was on the Agrirama in Tifton. I just added it to my list of things I want to do in 2010.
