Wade in the Creek at the Dunwoody Nature Center

What: Creekside Adventures
Where: Dunwoody Nature Center
When: Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 – 12 pm
Cost: $5 for members and $8 for the general public

The Dunwoody Nature Center has a program coming up this Saturday that looks like a ton of fun. It’s called Creekside Adventures. Hike along Wildcat Creek to search for animal tracks, wade in to catch and release creek critters, and make a record of your discoveries with a scrapbook page. Bring a camera to add photos to your keepsake later at home.

On our recent trip to Reed Bingham State Park, my boys had a fantastic time catching tadpoles and minnows in the water. It’s the outdoor adventures like these where the boys tend to work together rather than pick at each other. So check out the Dunwoody Nature Center this weekend.

Thanks to Diane Maicon for the following additional tips…Wear creek shoes, the bottom is rocky, not sandy. Bring bug spray, but the creek is shady, so you probably won't need sunscreen. Bring a picnic so you can stay a little longer and enjoy the 21-acre park.
