Big Weekend of Fun in Atlanta

This weekend seems to be THE weekend for fun in Atlanta. There are so many great things going on that I’m having a hard time choosing. Here are a few ideas in addition to my earlier posts on free admission at Zoo Atlanta and the Falcon’s All Access Weekend. I’m sure I’ve missed a few activities, so if you know any that are not listed, post a comment and let everyone know.

What: Great Yellow Jacket Encounter, Georgia Tech’s annual fan/photo day

What: Night at the Museum
Where: Tellus, Cartersville, Ga.
When: Saturday, Aug. 8, 6 – 10 pm
Cost: $10 members, $15 non-members

What: $5 Tickets to the High Museum of Art
Where: High Museum of Art
When: Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 am – 12 noon
Cost: $5 Walk up tickets – just mention the “twitter deal”

What: Simon dTour Live includes BMX bike demos with Dave “The Lord” Voelker, a multi-year XGAmes competitor.
Where: Discover Mills Mall (Entry 3 Parking Lot)
When: Sunday, Aug. 9 from 12 – 6 pm
Cost: Free

What: Rolling Stone Chuck Leavell Reads (and signs) his Children’s book, The Tree Farmer
Where: Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta
When: Saturday, Aug. 8 at 12 noon
Cost: Free with museum admission

What: Movies Under the Stars
Where: Mall of Georgia
When: Saturdays through Sept. 5 (Aug. 8 is musical act Sister Jane and the movie is The Wizard of Oz
Music begins at 6:30 pm, movie begins at dusk
Cost: Free
