It took three boys to finally go see A Day Out with Thomas. I’ve wanted to go since my oldest was little, but finally made it with the last one. If you’re child is a Thomas the Tank Engine fan, or a fan of trains, they’ll love it. Thomas takes you on a 25 minute train ride that goes out to a bridge and then back. I would like to go in a circle rather than out and back, but the kids enjoyed it. You can also visit and get your picture taken with Sir Topham Hat, hear Thomas stories and various other activities the kids will enjoy. The town is quaint and there are lots of shops and places to eat while you are there. It makes for a great day up in the Mountains.
While you are there, check out some of the upcoming programs at the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. The Lone Ranger Rides Again, sounds fantastic, even for the older boys. Cowboys, Indians, train robberies, what’s not to love. That might be going on my August to do list.

My son loves Thomas! We didn't go to the one in Bryson but the one in Chattanooga. It was fun and we stayed at the Choo Choo Hotel.
I always wanted to go to the one in Chattanooga and stay in the rail car. Bryson was fun and more of a mountains adventure.
Bryson City, NC is the place to see Thomas! What a beautiful and clean little mountain town. My nephews had so much fun there. We'll be sure to go back next year. Sue, I think the Lone Ranger sounds like a fun day too, thanks for the link!
If you go to the Lone Ranger, let me know how it is. I'd love to make it up there, but I'm not sure we'll be able to swing that one.
