What: Check It Out Reading
Where: Anywhere
When: June 2 – Aug. 15
Who: K – 12 graders
For the past few years, my children have participated in the Atlanta Spirit’s Check It Out Reading Program. Not only does it motivate the boys to read during the summer, but they love going to the Thrashers and Hawks games during the season.
How does it work? Sign up a www.checkitoutreading.com. Have the children read at least five books during the program dates. Kids can read any five books, but there are some suggestions of sports related books they might want to check out.
Once your children have read the books, register them online (you need to register all children at the same time, so wait until all your kids have read the required number of books.) Provide a valid email (all communication is done through email).
Children receive a bookmark and one youth ticket to a 2009 – 2010 Atlanta Hawks game and one youth ticket to a 2009-2010 Atlanta Thrashers game.

Thanks for the link. We also do the Summer reading program with B&N and our local library.
So one reading and can record for 3 programs.
Great comment. We do that too. Kids can choose a free book from a select list at B &N and our local library offers coupons for Chick-Fil-A, book marks and other goodies. We won a Magic Tree House book one summer in their raffle and got hooked on the whole series (even me, I LOVE Magic Tree House).
