The Wren’s Nest is the home of Joel Candler Harris, creator of the Uncle Remus Stories. This week, you can enjoy the Uncle Remus tales told by a professional storyteller. If you enjoyed hearing these stories as a kid, you’ll be spellbound hearing them from one of the Ramblers, the Wren’s Nest storytellers.
The Wren’s Nest is also an official Flat Stanley location. Bring your Flat Stanley and he’ll be treated like a (paper) king. I love Flat Stanley. Flat Sam went with us to Washington DC and Flat Bob joined us on a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp. I had the great idea to do “Where’s Flat Sam” (think Where’s Waldo) pictures in DC. Some people got the idea, most looked at me like I was crazy. The 3-D Sam wasn’t sure if he should be embarrassed that his mom was chasing down and photographing total strangers or think it was fun. This spring break, have your Stanley meet Tar Baby.
