Thanks to my friend Courtney for sending this great opportunity. The annual G-Day spring football game in Athens features the Bulldog team split into the Red and Black squads. This year’s UGA G-Day event will be televised by ESPN. The national telecast will be the first for a Georgia spring football game.
If you can’t wait for the 1 pm game, come early and see the UGA Alumni Flag Football Game. The G-Day festivities begin at 10:15 when approximately 80 Georgia football letterwinners from six different decades take part in a flag football game. That contest features 14 former All-SEC performers.
In lieu of an admission fee, fans are encouraged to bring food donations to benefit the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Among the items most needed are soups, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, rice, pasta and pop-top canned goods.
