My children went to their grandparents for spring break this year and while there, rented Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from the library. I loved that movie growing up, although the child catcher always gave me nightmares. How fabulous that the Fox Theatre is now showing the Broadway version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. What’s even better is buy one, get one free tickets for Sunday’s show. Can’t make it Sunday, then take advantage of the family discount. Save $15 when you purchase at least three tickets.
I took my 9 year old last night and we both really enjoyed it. It was nice that he had recently seen the movie, so he was familiar with the songs and story line. We had a good discussion both before and after about how they would interpret some scenes (like the flying car) on stage. The spys were quite funny, and even threw in a local joke. The child catcher, with his big hook, was still creepy.
