What: Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Circus All Access Preshow and Discount Tickets
When: Feb. 15 – Feb. 22
Where: Phillips Arena, Downtown
Cost: $14 – $130 – without discounts (see below for codes)
I’m posting a little early this week to give you some great circus intel. If you think you can’t afford the circus in this economy, think again. There are several great deals listed below including a free ticket for baby’s first circus.
If you already have tickets, plan to get there early enough to be on the floor of the arena one hour before showtime for the all access pre-show. The best part about the pre-show is getting up close to the three rings and interacting with the performers. The video above shows some of the performances in the third ring. If you want to see animals, including the elephants (I absolutely LOVE the elephants), you want to go to the ring by the Ringling Bros. sign, where the performers come out onto the stage. In addition, there are rungs of circus costumes you can try on and a chance to win an elephant painting (make sure to grab a clown nose too.) We were able to get photos with the clowns and other performers as well. The pre-show does get crowded the closer to showtime you go, so that’s why I recommend getting there early enough so you’re on the floor one hour prior.
As I mentioned, there are several great deals available too. Now through February 22, you can make a feel good donation AND go to the circus. Anyone who makes a $25 gift to the United Way Critical Needs Campaign will receive a pair of tickets to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s circus–a $44 value. Want to bring the whole family? With a $50 gift, you’ll receive a four-pack of tickets–an $88 value. To get your tickets, make your donation online at United Way Atlanta by click on the Ringling Bros. logo.
Another great deal is the 4 for $50. Use promo code “4 for 50″ to get 4 tickets for $50. Just select the number of tickets you need in the “Advance or Promotion” box and choose “Any” for the price and “Best Available” for the section. A friend of mine tried this and got four tickets in the 111 section! Better seats for less than we did with a preferred customer code on opening night.
If you have a child under 1, you can get a free ticket for them to the circus. Visit the Ringling Bros. site for information on baby’s first circus and other special offers including ones specifically for military.
We generally park in the Dome parking lot. It cost $10 and is right next to the arena. A friend almost purchased parking with her tickets, but with the ticketmaster “convenience” charges, it would have been $14.

What website is that on? The 4 for 50 deal? If I follow the link, it says not found. Will you please include the website where we can use this promo code?
Sandra, These are the deals for the 2009 circus. This post was from last Feb. For the 2010 circus try code ZXC for 50% off tickets to the 7:30 pm show on opening night. You may have to select specific seats, not best available. If it doesn’t work, let me know. I’m sure there will be additional discounts as we get closer – but your best bet for the best seats is to get the tickets early.
First let me say, that I Love your website. I am a mother of 2 small children and always looking for free/affordable activities for our family. It makes finding activities so much easier. Great job!
Is it possible to put the date on your posts? Like Sandra, it is hard to determine which posts are new vs pertain to previous year. Just some food for thought.
Regards,
Maria
Maria, There is a date on the comments section. It’s not very big. I think it’s a design flaw to the template I’m using. I agree with you though. I need to see if I can get that bigger or maybe tag everything with the year. As we go into our second year, this will be an issue more and more. Not sure the best way to do it — suggestions welcome.
Maria and Sandra, I added a date to the top of the posts. Take a look and let me know what you think. Is this enough? Should we do something else? bold it? Thanks for the comments.
