The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is a wonderful, hands-on museum for the preschool and young elementary school set, and the second Tuesday of every month is FREE thanks to Target. If you’d like to see more video, go to my YouTube channel.

Exhibits include a life-size John Deere tractor, wooden trains, moon sand station, UPS truck, water play area and more! There is also a section just for the crawling set, with soft walls, mats to climb on, over and under, musical instruments to play and even a water bed. Currently there is an excellent exhibit called The Amazing Castle. I’ve seen this in Baltimore and it’s a lot of fun.

Lines for the FREE day do form outside prior to the 1 p.m. entry time. We arrived about 12:50 and had no trouble getting in at 1 p.m. and left around 2:30. It was getting rather crowded when we left, but I imagine that ebbs and flows. If you go in the summer or whenever school is out, there is a chance that you won’t get in, but generally, it’s not a problem, especially during these cold winter months when the kids are in school. In summer, if you don’t get in, a back-up plan could be to play at the Centennial Olympic Park playgrounds and run around in the Olympic Fountains. There are two playgrounds right next to each other and one is specially equipped for those with special needs, but fun for everyone. The playgrounds and Fountains don’t cost anything and are always a fun time.
