Botanical Garden Goes to the Dogs

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is one of the best attractions in Atlanta and now it’s gone to the dogs, the Reindogs to be exact. Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 – 1 p.m. ABC will host the first annual Reindog Parade. Dogs can compete for prizes or just star gaze, as there will be celebrity pups in attendence. Mandatory pre-registration begins Oct. 1 (for the dogs). The parade is $10 per dog, plus Garden admission.

Truly, the Garden is one of Atlanta’s jewel’s. If you can’t make the special event, it is well worth it just for an afternoon out and not just for the plants and flowers. They have dozens of permanent pieces of art, including sculptures and water features. The 2008 special exhibition was Sculpture in Motion, but in the past they have had Chihuly glass, a natural train exhibit and my all time favorite, sculptures by Niki de Saint-Phalle. The skull is incredible. I can’t wait to see what they bring next!
